What is the UCI?

The Internationalist Communist Union is a current which claims to be the filiation of ideas embodied successively by Marx and Engels, Rosa Luxembourg, Lenin and Trotsky. She considers that the organization capitalist society represents the past of human society, not its future, and that capitalist society based on private property, the market, competition and profit will have to be replaced, on a planetary scale, by a society based on collective ownership of land resources and instruments of production, as well as that on a democratically planned economy ensuring each of its members equal access to all goods material and cultural.

She takes credit for the Russian Revolution of 1917, which she considers to be the first and so far unique revolution where the proletariat took lasting state power in an attempt to transform society in a collectivist sense, before being removed from political power by the dictatorship of a usurping bureaucracy.

The organizations that claim to be part of the UCI consider that communist ideas must be reintroduced in the working class which, alone, can make it a force for social transformation.

While participating in the daily struggles of workers to the extent of their possibilities, activists UCI organizations defend among these the general political interests of the working class. They are convinced that workers alone are capable of replacing capitalism with a free society, fraternal and human because they constitute the majority of the population, and have no interest in maintaining the current society. They are also the only ones, by their number and their concentration, to have the means to control the political power resulting from their intervention.

They consider that workers constitute one and the same social class on a world scale and that their presence at all stages of production and distribution of the goods produced allows them to democratically control all the cogs of the economy so that it functions to satisfy the needs of all.

The Lutte de Classe magazine, presented on the Internet, is the collective expression, in French, of the UCI. Each of the organizations which claims to have, moreover, its own publications in the form of a political press, as well as, for most of them, a workers' press in the form of bulletins regular business.
